The Anderson Family
Corey, Christine, Bailey & Godiva |
Christine and Corey were married all of 2 weeks when Wag the Dog opened on September 22, 2003 -- a new life and a new adventure for both of them! They are excited to have the opportunity to extend their dedication to the health and well-being of their own dogs -- Bailey and Godiva-- to your dog.
You will see Christine almost every day you come to daycare. She holds a Bachelor's in biology with emphasis in Comparative Animal Physiology. She graduated from the Animal Behavior College in May of 2004 as a certified Canine Obedience Trainer. In the summer of 2008, Christine will complete her Masters of Science in Biology with emphasis ethology (animal behavior), behavioral ecology, and sociobiology. Her interests are in the biological mechanisms of aggression. In addition, she is certified in Pet First Aide and CPR. Corey works very hard behind the scenes and also carries a full-time "real" job elsewhere. All of our daycare improvements can be attributed to him!
In February 2006, Christine attended a two-day seminar in Tucson, Arizona with Patricia McConnell, PhD. She attended a "Both Ends of the Leash" Seminar and the "Management of Multiple Dog Households" Seminar. Dr. McConnell is one of Christine's largest influences in her training philosophy.
In March 2008, Christine traveled to Austin, Texas to complete a 3-day seminar by Raymond Coppinger, PhD -- a professor of biology at Hampshire College. Dr. Coppinger is a world-renowned biologist, ethologist, and sled-dog racer. He has contributed a great deal to the understanding of the evolution of canines as well as the early development of dogs used for assitance and lifestock guarding.
Christine and Corey would like you to know they are here to help you with the raising and managing of your dog or puppy and gladly offer any assitance you need. Just like a child, it takes more than one person to give your little one the best life you can! |
